Portable hydro pneumatic fender is used in catamarans, semi-submersible platforms, and drilling rigs for a long time. This portable hydro pneumatic fender is filled with water and air inside to make it vertically installed against submerged hulls with a counterweight. It’s always regarded as a buffer to reduce shock in between due to its excellent performance of great elasticity and abrasion-resistance.
Portable hydro pneumatic fenders are made of natural rubber and tire cord reinforcement in the shape of cylindrical, which is strong enough to withstand external forces and severe weather conditions.
Fully compliant with the ISO17357 standard, Jerryborg’s portable hydro pneumatic fender supplies with a variety of specifications and dimensions to meet customer’s requests and different application conditions.
Portable Hydro Pneumatic Fender Structure
① Outer rubber layer
Portable hydro pneumatic fenders are covered by the outer layer made of natural rubber. This rubber compound is strong enough to protect the inner layer and synthetic-cord layer from the damage of external forces and severe weather conditions due to its high elasticity and abrasion resistance.
② Synthetic-tire-cord layer
The Synthetic-tire-cord layer is made of synthetic-tire-cord fabrics, compared with synthetic canvas fabric and synthetic belt fabric, this reinforcement layer performs better in fatigue-resistance and pressure-holding.
③ Inner rubber layer
The inner rubber layer is designed to seal the air inside the fender.
Portable Hydro Pneumatic Fender Advantage
1. Advantage Under Severe Weather Conditions
Under normal circumstances, the ship movement caused by high and long-period waves or strong wind will bring repeated compression and shearing forces on the fender and make it easier to be fatigue and damage. However portable hydro pneumatic fender is strong enough to resist severe weather conditions, the reaction force increase slowly compared with a solid fender and won’t easily reach the maximum.
2. Strong Enough against Shear Force
Portable hydro pneumatic fender is made of reinforced-tire-cord layers which enable it to make it cope against the shear forces and compression forces.
3. Tide Adaptation
Portable hydro pneumatic fender is filled with pressure air inside that makes it flexible and easy to float on the water and adapt to the tide variation.
